About

With the birth of kiki who was a preterm, her pediatrician suggested to start her weaning stage with an indigenous recipe along with fortification, which should be analysed by food scientists & nutritionists. Since we were from the small town of Mysuru fortunate to have the prestigious CSIR laboratory, we took our traditional grandmothers recipe as some know it as Sattu Maavu.

How it All Began…

(Council for Scientific & Industrial Research under the Ministry of science and technology) During 1970s when India had dire shortage of milk food which was imported the government requested mulitnationals to set up manufacturing facility on the pretext that we did not have enough cows milk & bufallos milk had excess fat.

This is where CSIR stepped in to develop an infant milk substitute with excellent digestibility. These catalysts are in the heart of a trillion USD industry & multinationals have dominated this fiercely protected sector. The scientists disagreed with our recipe since it had around 15 major & minor ingredients. This is due to the fact that infants should not be fed with more than 2 major ingredients at the initial stage(starting from 6 months) for the long term gut health.

Then they came up with a product for Kiki. This was used not only for her but also given to friends & family on their request(India & abroad).

A few months ago in 2023, most of them who had kids growing up with this product suggested to bring out this product commercially, to ease the lives of parents everywhere. This is where Mamma Mills was born.
